Prettifying my Entrance

So we've lived in our house for two years now and I still very much feel like it's like we're renting. We really haven't done much decoration wise to show that it is ours. So I decided to paint my front door. It's the entrance to our home and I wanted it to reflect me! I picked an awesome red called "Raspberry Truffle".

I just love it! It makes me so happy!

Then I decided to make a "Wreath" out of an old gold frame that I had laying around. I got it at a church food storage giveaway thing. Someone passed away and their kids donated all their food storage to the church for everyone to split up! Got a bunch of stuff there for free. Wheat, corn... all sorts of stuff it was awesome. But I also got this lovely Gold frame that I just loved but had no idea what I was going to do with it. Anyways... Without further ado. Here are the photos!!

Blossom Festival Children's Parade

This last weekend was  Blossom Festival. I have memories of coming into Creston from Fernie as a kid to visit Grandma for the Blossom Festival. The midway travelling fair comes to town and we ride the rides. We went to the Farmer's Market, took Adam and Caleb to the fair, watched the Parade, planted our Garden, Had our 10 year Grad Reunion, and took the Kids to the Children's Parade. It was a SUPER FULL weekend but so much fun! I, of course, did not take hardly any pictures because I"ve really gotten slack with that lately. But I DID take some of the Children's Parade.... and a few at the fair with Dustin's Cell phone. I'll have to get him to upload those later. Anyways it was such an awesome weekend and the weather was perfect. Here are the pictures of the Children's Parade.

The whole group of kiddo's. (We took some of Chisa's kids to the parade too)

Gosh he's stinkin' cute

Emmalynn and Rayann are the two in the background in the middle

Hi Luana!

Caleb got scared of walking. There were too many noises and too many kids on bikes and stuff.

A Day at Spa du Adame

So this was a while ago but Adam was bored one day and asked if we could do something together. I asked him if he wanted to paint my toenails.... One thing led to another and my toenails, hair, and makeup were all done expertly by my 5 year old. Man I love him!
He chose pink, blue and purple as the colours.

After brushing my hair for awhile he added a flower clip

Lip gloss and blush as well

Adam: "Please, no pictures"

He picked the colour too

Lovely purple shade. Not too shabby considering

I just love this little man so much!!
He was so excited and he said "When Daddy gets home he is going to say 'Oh Mommy You're soooo beautiful!!!"

Spring is here!?

It is the second day of March. Almost all of February was beautiful spring weather. The birds have returned and we started cleaning up the yard to prep for planting. However, today it is snowing! I knew it was too soon to call "Spring" However, I did make a lovely "Spring" Block set for my mantel. I love my mantel. It bring me joy to decorate it with the changing of the seasons. My house is far from where I envision it ending up looking like. And since we can't afford to do all the renovations at once I take happiness out of being able to decorate one small part of my house to look really nice. Here are some pictures of it!

Thanks to Laurie and Brittney for hosting ladies night where we get to make cool stuff like this! You make crafting easy!

The Mountain of Snow!

Well in January we FINALLY got a decent snowfall. I grew up in Fernie, where about 2/3 of the year was spent in snow. A good majority of my childhood memories include snow play. One of my favourites was when dad would plow up the mountain of snow from our .5 km long driveway and we would slide down it and play king of the hill. Well, we tried to recreate that on a smaller scale in our driveway. Adam came outside and helped me shovel all the snow into the pile. He worked so hard! I was so proud of him! Then the best part at the end was climbing up the snowpile and showing off how tall it was. Look at how proud he is. He even tried sledding down it. (it was a short ride) but he was excited nonetheless.
It looks taller if you take the picture while lying on the ground!

Doesn't look so tall when you take the picture from standing point

Caleb gets his first hair cut.

We cut Caleb's hair for the first time in January. He cried the whole time. At first we had asked Adam not to come in the kitchen where we were cutting his hair because we didn't want him to walk all through the cut hair and track it through the house. But Adam finally came in and started singing "Caleb I love you, Caleb I do-o, Father in Heaven has sent me to you-ou, When I am near you, I love to hear you, singing so softly that you love me too. Caleb I love you, I love you I do." It was so sweet and Caleb stopped crying! We were able to finish up the hair and snap a few photos. He now looks like a little man. So cute!

Caleb loves sticking his tongue out!

Christmas Time 2014!!

Christmas came and went quickly this year.
Did anyone else feel that way?

Our Christmas was very lovely! We stayed home for a lot of it.

The Monday before Christmas we invited my sisters and their families and my parents over and we re-enacted the Nativity Story while reading it from the Scriptures. It was GREAT! And finally brought the "Christmas Spirit" to our home. It was very wonderful and I think definitely to become a Christmas Tradition!

Aurora, Rayann and Olivia were the 3 Wise Men. Felicity doubled as the Inn-Keeper and a shepherd. Gage was a Shepherd.
Emmalynn was Mary, Adam was Joseph and Luana was our Angel. So Cute!

Aaaand the handsome looking shepherd in the back is our "Ben Burgundy" LOL! I'll write more on that later

Christmas Eve we went out to my parents for our annual Christmas snack/appy dinner. Dustin brought his homemade sausage rolls and we had an awesome time! The kiddo's opened their jammies that night.
Adam's Jammies matched Dustin's

... and Caleb's matched mine.

I just want to say... those are some nice jammies! I made them myself and they were fancy and I didn't get any help.
 *toots own horn*

Christmas Morning Adam and Caleb both slept in until 8:30! Sweet! Dustin and I were up waay before them! It's tradition to open our stockings first!
Adam got a jar of Cheez Whiz in his stocking from Santa. Which was his most talked about gift.
So I'm going to say he liked that the best! Hahaha

My Favourite Gift from Dustin was a Cross-stitch of a Peacock... can't wait to get working on it. I'm powering through the one that I'm working on right now so that I can move on to the Peacock. It's gorgeous!

I got Dustin an all in one Breakfast Sandwich maker and we ate Breakfast Sandwiches all day Boxing Day! So Delish!

THE BEST PART OF CHRISTMAS DAY:
Going on Skype to talk to my Brother who is serving a mission for our church in Peru. He'll be gone for 2 years. First time he's been away for Christmas. So it was sooo great to be able to talk to him. He bore his testimony of the Gospel in Spanish: the language he's had to learn since being out there. It was indescribable to be able to talk to my little brother. Love him! So proud of him!

Adam's gift from Aunty Kamarie

It was a glorious season... spent doing the things we love best. Spending time with Family and Friends and remembering the Birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Video above shares the Best Gift of the season.
